Why is hygiene so important?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases”.
Whereas in popular culture and parlance it can often mean mere 'cleanliness', hygiene in its fullest and original meaning goes much beyond that to include all circumstances and practices, lifestyle issues, premises
and commodities that engender a safe and healthy environment. While in modern medical sciences there is a set of standards of hygiene recommended for different situations, what is considered hygienic or not can vary between
different cultures, genders and age groups. Some regular hygienic practices may be considered good habits by a society while the neglect of hygiene can be considered disgusting, disrespectful or even threatening.
Now let us talk about personal hygiene when you say personal hygiene we have several body parts which have to be maintained clean. Good personal hygiene is one of the best ways to protect yourself from getting illnesses such as gastroenteritis and the common cold. Good personal hygiene is important for both health and social reasons. It entails keeping your hands, head and body clean so as to stop the spread of germs and illness. Your personal hygiene benefits your own health and impacts the lives of those around you, too.
Environmental hygiene encompasses effective cleaning of surfaces using appropriate products, decontamination of medical equipment and devices used in patient-care procedures, safe and appropriate handling of sharps, blood and body fluid spills, waste and linen. A clean environment will mean that parents, inspectors, visitors and – of course – students can attend school knowing they are working in a safe, clean, professional learning environment
It includes Supervision of water and food supply, Containment of communicable disease, Disposal of garbage and sewage, Control of air and water pollution. The toilet has TOYS which lure children to come to toilet, using the toys to play & of course answer their call of nature too. Inside the ToyLet, children use the board on the wall to write & draw pictures
